Sloppy Diet Food Joes |

Ingredients:
- 1 pound extra-lean ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 4 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1 jalapeno, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 can small kidney beans or pinto beans, preferably drained and rinsed low sodium
- 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce without salt
- 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 8 whole-grain burger buns
How to make:
- Fry the bacon and onions in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, crumbling the meat into crumbs as it cooks. Pour the drippings out of the pan and discard them. Add the garlic, jalapenos, and red peppers and cook 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in remaining ingredients, reduce heat to low, and simmer for another 5 minutes. Place a half-cup spoonful of the mixture onto each loaf and serve.
