Dalgano - Recipes Japan | Konnyaku is a Japanese jelly made from a type of tuber called konnyaku. Sold in supermarkets in the form of blocks. Konnyaku is mixed into a variety of dishes to give it a pleasantly chewy element. The longer it is cooked, the more the konyaku will absorb the spices.

Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 150 g onion, thinly sliced
- 500 g deep-fried beef, thinly sliced x 1 x 4 cm
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp sake
- 3 tbsp mirin
- 60 ml soy sauce (Japanese soy sauce)
- 1 cm cinnamon
- 200 g konnyaku, thinly sliced cm crosswise, halved lengthwise
- 2 scallions, sliced 1 cm

Pickled carrots-radish:
- 1 tbsp vinegar (5% vinegar)
- 1 tsp salt
- tsp sugar
- 1 carrot, peeled, coarsely grated/finely sliced
- radish, peeled, coarsely grated/finely sliced
how to make Konnyaku:
- Heat oil in a frying pan over low heat, saute garlic and onion until wilted.
- Increase the heat. Enter the meat, cook until the meat changes color. Add honey, sake, mirin, shoyu, and cinnamon, mix well.
- Add the konnyaku and spring onions, reduce the heat, continue to cook for 20 minutes, remove from heat.
- Pickled carrots-radish: Mix vinegar, salt, and sugar until smooth. Add carrots and radish, mix well. Let the carrots and radishes wilt slightly.
- Transfer the konnyaku meat to a serving bowl. Serve with pickled carrots.
