Ingredients:

  • 2 kg Cassava
  • 2 - 2.5 grains of tape yeast
  • Cooking utensils for steaming
  • Sealed/airtight container for storage



How to make Peyeum:

  1. Remove the cassava skin and wash it clean
  2. Steam cassava until cooked
  3. Drain and air so that it is not steamy or watery again. Make sure the cassava is cool before adding the yeast.
  4. Sprinkle the tape yeast evenly over the entire surface of the cassava. Then arrange in a container.
  5. Close tightly and leave for 3-5 Days. On the 3rd day, see if the tape is cooked, if it is not cooked, close it again and leave it until the 5th day.
  6. The tape is finished and ready to be consumed or used. When it's finished, it's better to store it in the refrigerator to make it last longer and slow down the fermentation process, because the more you cook, the more alcoholic it will become.
